Training & nutrition guides
Evidence-based, no-nonsense guides, free to read, written for people who actually train.
Progressive overload, explained
The one principle that decides whether you build muscle, and a simple double-progression system to apply it every week.
How many calories should I eat?
Work out your maintenance with Mifflin–St Jeor, then cut or bulk with numbers instead of guesses.
The Push Pull Legs split
Why PPL works, who it suits, and a ready 6-day template you can start today.
How much protein do you need?
Grams per kilo, the timing that actually matters, and the easiest foods to hit your target.
How to choose a workout tracker app (2026)
What actually matters in a gym logger, and the features most apps get wrong.
How to count macros (without losing your mind)
Protein, carbs and fat, how to set them, hit them, and when to stop obsessing.
Where to start
If you are new, read progressive overload first. Almost every question that follows - why the weight stopped moving, whether to add reps or load, when to deload - is downstream of it. After that, how many calories and the protein guide cover the nutrition side in the order it actually matters.
If you already train and want structure, push pull legs explains the split most lifters end up on and why. Counting macros is for the point where calories alone stop being enough.
What these guides are based on
The numbers in these articles are the same ones the app calculates with, which is deliberate: energy expenditure from Mifflin-St Jeor, protein from the position stands that put the useful range well above the old 0.8 g/kg minimum, and volume guidance from the MEV/MAV/MRV landmarks. If an engine in the app changes, the guide changes with it.
None of it is medical advice, and none of it assumes you have a coach, a gym with every machine, or a schedule you control completely.
Questions
How long are these guides?
Six to nine minutes each. They are written to be read once and used, not to pad a word count for a search engine.
Are they available in Arabic?
Yes. Every guide is written in full in both English and Arabic, not machine-translated.
Do I need Musclory to follow them?
No, but the guides assume you are tracking something. The app is the least tedious way to do that, and the free tier covers all of it.
